At Silverton Ballet and Performing Arts CO., we recognize the remarkable growth that occurs throughout early childhood and offer thoughtfully designed, age-specific classes to support each stage of development.
Our early programs nurture creativity, coordination, and confidence, laying the groundwork for future training. As students advance, they follow a comprehensive curriculum that builds technical skill, musicality, and a lifelong love of dance. Older dancers have access to a wide range of classes across multiple levels, with each technique class emphasizing proper form, artistic expression, and body awareness, instilling discipline and confidence both in and out of the studio.
Whether your dancer is exploring movement for the first time or refining their skills at an advanced level, our dance programs provide a supportive and challenging environment to help every student grow.

Our Ballet and Creative Movement classes help young dancers develop coordination, rhythm, and gross motor skills through imaginative movement, music, tumbling, and foundational ballet technique—all while nurturing a lifelong love of dance.
Our Ballet-Tap Combination class introduces young dancers to the fundamentals of ballet and tap through barre work, center exercises, and across-the-floor combinations, along with 10 minutes of tumbling. Emphasizing proper technique, musicality, body awareness, and classroom etiquette, it’s the perfect class for the aspiring young dancer.
Ballet is the foundation for all dance. SBPAC Ballet classes include barre, center, and across-the-floor work encompassing various levels of adagio, port de bras, petit, and grand allegro. Students will learn proper terminology associated with all movement and steps as well as developing a strong center, body placement, balance, gracefulness, and precise technique. Levels range from beginning to advanced.
Pointe is a classical ballet technique where dancers perform on the tips of their toes using specially designed pointe shoes. It requires significant strength, control, and proper training to ensure safety and precision. Dancing en pointe allows for graceful, elevated movements that create the illusion of weightlessness and effortless flow. Pointe dancers must be enrolled in a ballet technique class. Please see Michele for a complete list of Pointe readiness requirements.
Jazz and Lyrical classes focus on building strong technique through warm-ups, across-the-floor progressions, and center combinations, emphasizing control, flexibility, and precision through isolations, turns, and jumps. Lyrical incorporates these technical elements while placing additional focus on musical interpretation and expressive movement. All upper-level Jazz dancers are required to be enrolled in a ballet technique class. Levels range from beginning to advanced.
HipHop is an energetic street-style dance taught to age-appropriate popular music. Students will learn musicality and how to rhythmically interpret the music during center, across-the-floor, and freestyle combinations. Levels range from beginning to advanced.
In Modern Contemporary, SBPAC dancers explore movement rooted in the principles of contraction and release, fall and recovery, and the interplay between resisting and yielding to gravity. Classes emphasize breath, balance, leverage, and dynamic expression. Dancers must be enrolled in a ballet technique class. Levels range from beginning to advanced.
